How do we sell a gift card?

Go to Account → Gift Cards, click New, select Gift Card, enter the amount and recipient, and process payment. For a promotion, choose Coupon (percent off) or Discount Code (fixed amount).

How it actually works
A gift card is prepaid credit. A coupon is not the same object.
Easy to mix up
- A discount code is a gift card.
- Gift cards cannot be sold on the booking site.
