Taking money and giving it back
How do I check a gift card balance?
There's no video on this page yet. The answer is the real one. When we film it, this same page gets the tape.
Go to Account → Gift Cards, search the code, and read original value, remaining balance, and redemption history. Filter by Active to see cards that still have money on them.
Read tracking gift cards, then exporting reports.
How it actually works
Outstanding active balances are the liability. Export the gift card report when the accountant asks.
Easy to mix up
- You have to call Stripe to see what is left on a gift card.
- Redemptions are not stored on the card.
