The questions
Do people have to create an account before they can book?
No. Guests book with name, email, and payment. Account creation is optional after the booking. You still get the operator record: name, email, phone, waiver, and card.
Read guest checkout, then see after-hours booking.
Can the guest see every fee before they pay?
Yes. Fees, tax, and add-ons sit in the checkout summary before they tap pay. Deposits and balances show in the open so the dock is not a surprise invoice.
Read pricing display, then start a page.
What does the guest get after they pay?
RecSystems automatically sends a booking confirmation, a payment receipt, and reminders. Emails use your business name, logo, and colors from account settings.
Read how customer emails work, then see confirmations.
Can they add tubes or a cooler while they book?
Create an add-on under Account → Addons, set a name and price, choose per booking or per day, assign it to fleets, and publish. Checkout only sells quantity you can actually fulfill.
Read add-ons in Help, then the add-on bundles page.
How do I offer half-day and full-day without a custom form?
Timeslot presets turn your day into buttons guests already understand: morning, afternoon, sunset, overnight. Cleanup sits behind those labels so back-to-back bookings cannot collide.
Read timeslot presets, then rental schedules.
Is checkout actually built for a phone?
Most bookings happen on phones. Checkout is built for thumbs: wallets, not a desktop form squeezed onto a small screen. The phone is the storefront.
Read mobile checkout, then see after-hours booking.
Can we keep our website and still take bookings?
Yes. Point Book Now buttons at your RecSystems booking URL, or embed the booking page in an iframe on the site you already have.
Read embedding, then custom domain if you want your own URL.
Can we require a driver's license at checkout?
At checkout, guests give name, email, and phone. Address, driver's license, birthday, and emergency contact are available. They also accept your waiver and rental terms. Some accounts collect extra operational details after payment.
Read customer information at checkout.
How long does a guest have to finish paying?
By default, carts are held for 15 minutes during checkout. If they do not finish, the cart expires and the units go back on the calendar. They cannot save a cart for later.
Read checkout, then the last-boat question.
What cards do we take?
Guests pay with credit or debit: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover. Gift cards apply if you enabled them. Card details go through the payment processor. RecSystems never stores actual card numbers.
Read checkout payment, then connect Stripe.
Can they pay with a gift card and a card together?
Yes. Gift cards apply first. The remaining balance charges the card.
Read checkout payment, then redeeming gift cards.
Can I force a life jacket or waiver fee onto every booking?
Yes. On the add-on, turn Required on. It is added to every booking for the fleets you assigned, and the guest cannot remove it. You can also let them pick a quantity for extras that are not required.
Read add-ons, then add-ons at checkout.
Can they stack more than one gift card?
Yes. Enter each code at checkout. Remaining credit stays on the card for next time. If the cards do not cover the total, the rest goes on a card.
Read redeeming gift cards, then gift card and card.
