Managing Your Inventory

Unit Details & Specifications - Complete Your Rental Listings

To add unit details in RecSystems, go to Account → Fleets, click on a unit, then edit fields like description, key features, photos, capacity, and SEO settings to create a complete listing.

Great unit listings help customers choose the right rental and increase your conversion rate. This guide covers how to add photos, descriptions, specifications, and marketing content to make your units stand out.

Why Details Matter

Complete unit listings: - Convert better — Customers book when they know what they're getting - Reduce questions — Answer common questions before they're asked - Rank higher — Search engines favor detailed content - Build trust — Professional listings inspire confidence

Photos

Photos are the first thing customers notice. Great photos significantly improve booking rates.

Adding Photos

  1. Go to Account → Fleets in the navbar → Click on your unit
  2. Click the Photos tab
  3. Drag and drop images, or click to browse

Photo Best Practices

What to photograph: - Exterior from multiple angles - Interior/seating areas - Dashboard/controls (if applicable) - Key features (stereo, shade, storage) - Safety equipment

Photo tips: - Use natural lighting when possible - Clean the unit before photographing - Remove clutter and personal items - Shoot in landscape orientation - Aim for at least 5-8 photos per unit

Cover Photo

The first photo in your gallery becomes the cover photo—it's what customers see first when browsing. Make it your best shot that clearly shows the unit.

To change the cover photo, drag images to reorder them. The leftmost image becomes the cover.

Description

Your description helps customers understand what they're renting and imagine their experience.

Writing a Great Description

Structure: 1. Opening — Hook them with the best feature or experience 2. Features — List key amenities and specifications 3. Ideal for — Describe perfect use cases 4. Included — Mention what's provided

Example:

Cruise the lake in comfort aboard our premium 24-foot Tritoon. With seating for up to 12 guests, a powerful 150HP engine, and a full Bimini top, this is the perfect choice for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, or a relaxing day on the water. Features: Bluetooth stereo with aux input, built-in cooler, swim ladder, USB charging ports, and comfortable lounge seating throughout. Included: Life jackets for all passengers, throwable flotation device, anchor, and dock lines.

Description Tips

Do: - Highlight what makes this unit special - Use descriptive, engaging language - Mention capacity and comfort - Include what's provided - Address common concerns

Don't: - Use excessive ALL CAPS or exclamation points!!! - Include pricing (that's set elsewhere) - Make claims you can't back up - Copy generic manufacturer text

Key Features

Key features are bullet points that highlight the most important aspects of your unit. They display prominently on your booking site.

Adding Key Features

  1. Go to the unit's detail page
  2. Scroll to Key Features
  3. Add features as bullet points

Great Key Features

Keep each feature concise and benefit-focused:

Good: - ✓ Seats up to 10 guests comfortably - ✓ Full Bimini top for shade - ✓ Bluetooth stereo with aux input - ✓ Built-in cooler included - ✓ Easy boarding swim ladder

Too vague: - ✗ Great boat - ✗ Has features - ✗ Nice

Aim for 5-8 key features that highlight what customers care about most.
