Checkout Process

Customer Information at Checkout

At checkout, customers provide their name, email, phone, and optionally address, driver's license, birthday, and emergency contact. They also accept your liability waiver and rental terms. Some accounts collect extra operational details after payment.

When customers proceed to checkout, they provide the information you need to complete their rental. This page explains what's collected and how to configure it.

---

Standard vs. Faster Checkout

Standard checkout collects contact details plus any ID, address, and emergency contact fields you've marked required — all before payment.

Faster checkout (optional) collects only name, email, phone, and required agreements before payment. Driver's license, date of birth, billing address, and emergency contact are collected on the confirmation page after payment, or at the rental counter.

Faster checkout helps mobile customers finish booking without form fatigue. Contact wecare@recsystems.com to enable it for your account.

How to Choose

Choose this flowBest when
Standard checkoutYou need all details before accepting payment
Faster checkoutYour team verifies ID, emergency contact, and final details at check-in

Whichever flow you use, keep field labels plain and only require information your staff truly needs before the rental.

Tips for Operators

Keep It Simple

  • Only require fields you actually need
  • Extra fields = more friction = abandoned checkouts
  • Balance security needs with conversion

Use Waivers Effectively

  • Keep waiver language clear and reasonable
  • Make it easy to read (not tiny print)
  • Ensure it covers your liability needs

Test the Experience

  • Complete a test booking yourself
  • Check that required fields make sense
  • Verify emails arrive correctly
